Hi! I welcome everyone to comment on my blog! I am just bothered my most of the students in the public school can't communicate themselves very well in English? What's wrong? If they are to expound their ideas, they are lost in oblivion?
"First Knight" revolves around legendary characters: Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot. The addition of Malagant as the antagonist whose greediness for glory and power is an added ingredient to the story. But what is remarkable in this story, though Arthur is portrayed as always someone endowed with nobility, gentleness, bravery, strength and immense love for his people, the focus of the story is on Lancelot and the events which led him and Guinevere to be with “each others shoulders” as her “knight in the shining armor.” Every event in the plot until to its conclusion is magnificently orchestrated. The writer makes use of literary devices such as, foreshadowing, deus ex machina, symbolism and others of this sort which has contributed so much to the artistry and finesse of the story. Another aspect of this classic film is the dialogue/ conversation. Every word uttered by every character is worth memorizing for it bridges fiction and reality. The scenes are worth watching from the beginning to end. Every single event has a bearing to the wholeness of the story as the theme slowly unfolds. The artistry of the director and the expertise of the cinematographers and the rest of the production people pave the way for a superb film. The film touches significant human experiences which do not change despite time: love, sensitivity, respect, greediness, humanity. It speaks of life’s realities beyond race, culture or generation.
So much has been said about "LOVE" but we often forget that love is a feeling. Meaning, we have to experience it before we can truly say what it is. It comes in different faces: exciting to the first timers, threatening to those who have been hurt and more sweet and lovelier to the second timers. But what is may be painful when we love someone when we are no longer free. When we want that man to be in our world but can't, for he does not belong there because there is already someone.
Hi jean. You have so many entries, I don't know which one to comment on hehehe... Anyway, it's a pleasure to make a comment here, thank you for inviting. I have watched this movie on HBO quite a long time ago and yes, I remember the "beautiful thing" between Lancelot and Guinevere which I think were portrayed by dashing Richard Gere and elegant Julia Ormond respectively. Kilig nga because by the way they glance at each other, you can feel the emotions struggling to be free. I was just sad for King Arthur who caught them expressing their love and I can feel the turmoil inside Guinevere who loved Lancelot secretly but who also adored and cared for King Arthur (portrayed by my all time favorite Sean Connery). Sad. When you love someone and you are no longer free.... even sadder when you know that you have hurt the other significant persons in your life because of that forbidden love. Such is the irony of life. That is one moment in time when we can say that LOVE IS NOT ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL.
hello jean! your classmate sylvia "bing" dasalla here... I have seen the movie and your review on it is perfectly true. I even had watched it twice, you know. Well, love comes in an unexpected time and place as the old adage goes hahaha. Well, it's difficult to exist when you know your love is not free to be out in the open..so stressful to think that it is forbidden especially when your world is centered into that love.
well, with regards to your students who are lost into the realm of oblivion when asked to expound ideas makes me crazy to think...haay what will I do if I were in your shoes? Now I know it is quite difficult then to teach English subject if given such kind of situation hehehe, much more difficult than Chemistry huh! Why then we enter into this vocation of teaching? God Bless Us All!
